The work abroad never stops, but apparently, updating this blog does… oops, sorry about that!
So, last year I meant to start a quarterly newsletter for Hydromissions, and—surprise—I didn’t actually get one out until the last two quarters. But hey, I did it! And now I’m on track to get FOUR newsletters out in 2025. Wahoo!
I really want to make sure you’re all signed up for the Hydromissions quarterly newsletter. That way, you can stay updated on all the amazing work happening year-round.
The newsletter is called “Hydro Highlights” and it shares brief articles and photos from the field.
Did you get those emails last year? If so, great! You are already signed up!
But if not, please click here to sign up for the newsletter!
I’ll still keep the blog going, too (no promises on how often) because this is where I can share more personal stories from the projects. The newsletters are where I’ll keep things more polished and professional.
Also, just to make this post a little more fun, I’m sharing some photos from recent projects below. Enjoy!
5 years later and still blessing the 200 children, staff and surrounding community with plenty of water. This well was drilled at Ebenezer School in Kakooge, Nakasongola, Uganda.
My fun group of female drillers in Eswatini! There was a male team as well, but this was the first country I have worked in that had so many ladies interested in helping.
I promise you that the walk/slide down to this well was a lot steeper than it looks in the photo! I go to Panama twice a year to check on Simon and the program. One of the tasks is pump repair where needed. This photo is of Simon and I glueing a new valve for the pump.
Another photo of my female dream team in Eswatini!
I had a chance to re-visit the first well that we drilled in Uganda. This well was drilled in Bukedea in 2012 and still going strong!
I collect soccer balls, uniforms and cleats for the kids / schools I am connected to in Kenya. These little dudes are showing off their new gear! If you have used soccer gear, please let me know via email: caitlin@hydromissions.org
Another dream team! These guys in the Democratic Republic of Congo were amazing students and have gone on to drill more wells and build more pumps on their own.
Simon drills a lot of wells in Panama and one of the ways that the awesome team from Washington supports him is to come down once a year and build these pump kits. Each of these kits contain nearly everything needed to finish the well after Simon drills it. He just brings the extra pipe and glue.
I am happy to be checking these wells in India that were drilled many years ago and still functioning great – providing water to the surrounding community.
Beautiful to see the work you and your team are doing, Caitlin. Also, thank you for taking care of your Dad in his time of need. God bless you and keep you.
Awesome work sister! And great photos and stories too! Stay strong. Praying for you.
