Another one bites the dust…

Message from Cait:
“Cyrus (the other hydromissions associate) seems to be the next one to get ill. He has been sleeping for a couple hrs now.

The latrine construction is going well but we’re almost out of healthy people here. I am feeling better though and I plan on returning to the site tomorrow.”

Update:
“Cyrus is back, short breakdown in health, but recovering rapidly. I ran out of water today, the well is two miles from my living area and town is 1 mile. So, I took an empty 5 gallon water container and walked the mile to the town water source, filled the jug, bought some supplies, bought bottles of coke for the team and hired a Motor bike taxi service back to the village.

The biggest challenge was balancing the water jug on one knee and the supplies on the other, while the motor bike traversed the bumpy road back home. If I just had a twenty pound bag of potatoes on my head and a baby strapped to my back, I would have looked more like a local.”

  1. So sorry you were sick, Kate! I am so glad to have David home safely, but continue to pray for you and the team. You are such a courageous woman and am so glad to have met you before the trip. Can’t wait to hear all the stories you are making in Uganda. In Him, Danielle
