I am so excited to be heading back to Guatemala! I will be working with a team from my church, Coastal Christian, alongside Mission Impact to serve in construction of bio-sand water filtration systems and stoves. I will be on one of two small teams responsible for inspecting existing water filters and determining whether or not they need repair or replacing. Other members of our group will be working on construction. Before I meet with the Coastal Christian team, I will be heading into the country early to go down to my old project site. I cannot believe it has been over 4.5 years since I have seen my “families” in the small village of San Antonio (near Guazacapan). The 2 months I spent there back in 2009 fueled my passion for continuing to serve in water and sanitation projects abroad. Check out the Press section of this blog to read more about my first project.
Hi Caitlin,
Sounds exciting. What are the dates of the trip? I will be praying for you and the team. I don’t see a place to donate. I would like to contribute to your trip. God bless and be safe. Love, Kathy
Guatemala! You’re right near us! How about a month or year of working on Isla Bastimentos off of Panama? We’ve got tons of water and waste projects piling up Caitlin. 😉
