Packing a Parka?!

a parka is not on my Hydromissions packing list!

I am a am overly light-packer when it comes to packing for my project trips. I went as far as leaving a 12″ ruler and a small bag of crackers at my friends house last night because I wanted to bring only the necessities … which is why the series of events over this past hour are so funny. On our way to the airport, Melissa’s tire became flat half-way through the Queen’s Tunnel. We got out of the tunnel, started to change it on the side, got in trouble with the police, moved the car, called a car service to rush me to the airport and a mechanic to help Melissa. It all of the crazy rush, I forgot to take off my HUGE winter coat! So now, the “most careful packer” is going to 100-degree Haiti with a parka!

  1. Ah…in the good old days you could stash that parka in a locker for fifty cents! What a series of crazy events! Hope this is all up front and the rest is smooth sailing (& drilling). God speed & God bless.

  2. Yikes! I’m glad you made it to the airport ok. Maybe you can use the parka as extra bedding? 🙂

  3. Crazy start to your trip! glad you are both safe and sound. I am sure you will find some use for your parka. I like the bedding idea mentioned above 🙂

  4. I’m with Kristen, the parka will make an awesome pillow! Looking forward to the Parka tales!
